Your role

Do you want to turn rocket engine test data into the decisions that make flight hardware real?

PAVE Space is building LYOBA, a heavy kick stage moving up to 4-ton payloads from LEO to high-energy orbits in under 24 hours. None of that works unless our propulsion, fluidics, structures, and spacecraft systems are tested, understood, and improved fast. That starts with clean, trusted, actionable test data.

That’s the job.

So, why now?

We are scaling up propulsion and spacecraft test campaigns, from component-level checks to full engine and system tests. Every test generates large volumes of sensor data: pressure, temperature, thrust, flow, vibration, strain, valve timing, DAQ signals, and more.

You’ll build the processing, analysis, and reporting workflows that turn raw data into engineering insight on a timeline measured in hours or days, not weeks.

Your work will directly influence whether hardware is redesigned, accepted, retested, or fired again.

You will own

What you’ll own

Build and maintain automated test data processing pipelines

Clean, synchronize, filter, calibrate, and validate raw test data

Process data from propulsion, fluidics, structural, thermal, and system-level tests

Generate post-test plots, dashboards, reports, and engineering summaries

Detect sensor issues, timing errors, drift, noise, saturation, and anomalies

Compare test results against models, requirements, and acceptance criteria

Support hot-fire, cold-flow, pressure, leak, vibration, thermal, and functional testing

Work with test, propulsion, fluidics, structures, GNC, and systems engineers to interpret results

Maintain traceable datasets, scripts, reports, and test records

Help define instrumentation, sampling rates, data channels, and test-data requirements before campaigns

What we are looking for

What we need

2+ years hands-on experience processing engineering test data

Strong Python and/or MATLAB skills

Experience with time-series data, filtering, signal processing, and sensor calibration

Ability to work with real hardware test data, not just clean textbook datasets

Solid engineering fundamentals in at least some of:

fluid dynamics

thermodynamics

heat transfer

structural mechanics

vibration or dynamics

Experience producing clear plots, reports, and technical conclusions

Strong attention to detail, traceability, and data quality

Clear English communication

Nice to have

Aerospace, automotive, propulsion, high-pressure, or high-reliability test experience

Experience with DAQ systems such as LabVIEW, National Instruments, Dewesoft, HBM, Beckhoff, or similar

Experience with propulsion sensors: pressure transducers, thermocouples, flow meters, load cells, strain gauges, accelerometers, valve position sensors

Experience with hot-fire, cold-flow, TVAC, vibration, structural, or pressure testing

SQL, databases, or structured test-data management

Git, Linux, Jupyter, automated reporting, dashboards

Uncertainty analysis and measurement error propagation

Familiarity with CFD, FEA, Modelica, EcosimPro, Simulink, or system simulation tools

You will fit if

You’ll fit right in if

You like finding the story hidden inside messy test data

You care about whether a sensor is lying before anyone makes a design decision from it

You can write scripts that other engineers can actually reuse

You understand that a plot is only useful if it leads to a decision

You are comfortable moving between code, physics, instrumentation, and hardware

You want your work to influence real tests, real engines, and real spacecraft

This is hard, early, and fully on-site in Villeneuve, VD, close to our test site in Chavalon, because we have a strong on-site hardware culture. Some tests will not behave as expected. Some data will be noisy, incomplete, or surprising. That is exactly why this role matters.

What makes it worth it: you will help build the data backbone behind one of the most ambitious propulsion programs in Switzerland.

We are building to ship, grounded on real hardware, real funding, and real milestones. Apply to contribute, surrounded by people as sharp as you are.
