Your role
At PAVE Space, we are redefining in-space logistics with autonomous and mobile spacecraft. Our mission is to revolutionize satellite deployment and orbit transfer through the development of a next-generation heavy Kickstage: a vehicle designed to accelerate orbit raising and optimize access to higher orbits.
The PAVE Kickstage will be capable of transferring satellites of more than 4 tons from LEO or GTO to GEO in under 24 hours. Our first mission, an In-Orbit Demonstration (IOD), will validate this capability by launching and operating a “small satellites” class spacecraft that performs orbital maneuvers and deploys a payload into a precise target orbit.
We are looking for a propulsion test intern to support the development of our RCS thruster, at a time when we will be transitioning from prototypes to qualified units.
About the Role
As a Propulsion Test Engineer Intern, you will play a key role in the testing of our reaction control system thruster. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build, test and operate hardware.
This position requires a high level of ownership, adaptability, and the ability to deliver under tight timelines.
You will own
Responsibilities
Design, build, and operate test stands, fluidic benches, and ground support equipment for RCS thruster and component testing
Help operate and maintain test benches during propulsion test campaigns, ensuring safety and reliability.
Prepare and run test campaigns
Analysis and documentation of testing data
Collaborate with the wider team (propulsion, avionics, structures, software) and provide general hands-on support to the propulsion team
What we are looking for
Required skills and Experience
Knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, turbomachinery and rocket propulsion.
Knowledge in creating, reading, and interpreting Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Hands-on experience in the design, development, and operation of test equipment.
Experience testing combustion devices and propulsion systems.
Skilled in both 2D and 3D CAD software (ideally knowledge with NX and Teamcenter) for design and documentation.
Strong willingness to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment.
Highly motivated with a strong drive to contribute to the advancement of the space industry.
Additional requirements
Willing to work flexible hours and occasional weekend support as needed.
Physically able to stoop, bend, and maneuver as required to operate effectively in a workshop environment.
