Your role
Before IBEX or LYOBA can be tested, moved, fueled, or launched, something has to hold it, carry it, and connect to it, and right now none of that exists.
PAVE Space is building LYOBA, a heavy kick stage moving up to 4-ton payloads from LEO to high-energy orbits in under 24 hours, and IBEX, a high mobility LEO/GEO spacecraft. Every test, transport, and launch campaign we run depends on ground support equipment. That's the job.
So, why now?
IBEX launches in early 2028, and LYOBA follows in late 2029. Neither leaves our floor without GSE. Working back from those dates, the first concepts need to be on paper and supplier conversations moving within weeks. You'll own GSE from the blank page to hardware standing next to the vehicle.
You will own
Mechanical GSE and Fluidics GSE for IBEX and LYOBA (AIT and Flight GSE), from first concept to delivered, accepted hardware
Make-or-buy trade-offs, and for everything we buy: the requirements, supplier selection, and contracts
Mechanical and fluid interfaces between GSE and the vehicles, including customer payloads on LYOBA
GSE that works both in our own facilities and at different launch providers' sites, compliant with each range's safety rules
Transport containers, plus the load and proof testing that certifies lifting and fluid equipment
The GSE budget and schedule
What we are looking for
5+ years in systems engineering applied to GSE work
GSE you've worked on has supported hardware that actually flew
You've lived at least one launch campaign on site
Working knowledge of SSCMAN, ECSS, and of launcher user's manuals across different providers
You've run make-or-buy decisions and managed suppliers through to delivery
Fluent English (our working language)
Nice to have: French, EGSE experience, or having led a small engineering team.
You will fit if
You know when a tight requirement spec for a supplier beats designing it in-house, and when it doesn't.
You can sit across from a launch provider's safety team and work your way to a yes.
You know GSE only gets noticed when it fails, and you're the reason it doesn't.
The role is fully on-site in Villeneuve (VD), with some travel as launch campaigns approach. You’ll build up the GSE function against two fixed launch dates, hands-on first, likely growing into leading a small team. What makes that worth it: GSE is the first thing that has to work, and everything else depends on it. You'll define how two spacecraft get from our floor to the pad, and you'll be there when they do.
We are building to ship, grounded on real hardware, real funding, real milestones. Apply to contribute, or send this to the GSE engineer you'd trust with your own launch campaign.
