Your role

PAVE Space is building LYOBA, a heavy kick stage moving up to 4-tonne payloads from LEO to high-energy orbits in under 24 hours.

To move at that pace, our aerospace engineers cannot rely on disconnected tools, manual coordination, and information trapped in the wrong place. We already have a first working version of our internal web-app suite. Now it needs to grow into the operating layer for agile systems engineering at scale: the place where workflows, interfaces, decisions, and technical context stay connected as the programme gets more complex.

This is not software for software’s sake. You will be building tools that real engineers use to make better decisions, reduce coordination drag, and keep complex hardware development moving.

Passion for improving user workflows, not just building technically interesting tools

Strong product judgement: you can tell the difference between what users ask for and what will actually solve the problem

Ability to work closely with technical and non-technical people, and understand how your software decisions affect their day-to-day work

Comfort with changing objectives, incomplete requirements, and iteration based on direct user feedback

Care for engineering quality while still moving in days and weeks

Independence: you can learn what you need, make decisions with limited supervision, and drive work to completion

Taste for simple, robust systems over clever architecture that nobody else can maintain

You will own

Own a suite of internal web apps end to end: backend, frontend, UI, QA, testing, deployment, and maintenance

Architect and develop interfaces, state management, APIs, schemas, and access patterns that support complex engineering workflows without making them painful to use

Design and continuously improve the development harness: agent context, repository instructions, and feedback loops, to make AI-generated changes reliable, secure, and consistent at scale

Turn rough engineering needs into shipped features in days, with direct feedback from the people using them

Integrate data and workflows across systems engineering, hardware, software, and programme execution

Build reliable full-stack TypeScript applications across Next.js, Node services, and Postgres

Improve UX where it matters: fewer clicks, clearer states, better defaults, less manual coordination

One day, you may sit with systems engineers to understand why a workflow breaks down once more teams depend on it. The next, you may be designing the API and frontend primitives that make the improved workflow possible. Later that week, you may be shipping the feature, watching people use it, and deciding what to improve next.

You will regularly face technical problems that are ambiguous, cross-functional, and tied to real engineering consequences. The job is to scope the right solution, find an incremental path, and ship without turning every problem into a platform rewrite.

What we are looking for

4+ years of software engineering experience building production web applications

Strong backend coding skills and a solid understanding of how modern web applications work

Proficiency with JavaScript or TypeScript; TypeScript experience is strongly preferred

Experience with React or similar frontend frameworks, and enough backend ability to own full features without handoffs

Experience using coding agents across real development workflows including investigation, planning, implementation, review and debugging

Willing to design and improve an agentic development harness

Familiarity with data structures, loading patterns, API design, state management, and database-backed applications

Clear written and verbal communication in English, our working language

Willingness to take ownership of broad, messy problems and drive them to working software

Nice to have: production experience with Next.js App Router, Node services, Postgres, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker/Docker Compose, Kubernetes, skills, MCP servers for AI agents, plan-first and TDD-fluent development, security & pentests, experience with aerospace systems engineering or operational experience in an aerospace company, experience with SaaS app development.

We are an agent-driven development team. We are not looking for an AI nerd but for a full-stack developer who can challenge our processes and add value to our architecture.

You will fit if

You are closer to a product-minded full-stack engineer than a feature-ticket implementer.

You like working directly with users, understanding the workflow behind the request, and building software that makes their work noticeably better.

You are comfortable operating much like a startup CTO for this tool suite: shaping the architecture, making UI decisions, owning delivery, keeping quality high, and deciding what not to build.

You do not need a large software team around you to be effective. You can move from ambiguous requirement to shipped feature, then stay close enough to see whether it actually worked.

You are eager to stay up to date with emerging AI development methodologies and continuously find new ways to optimise our processes.

This role is fully on-site in Villeneuve, VD, because the work depends on short feedback loops with the engineering team.

This is early, hard, and broad. The first version exists and is already useful, but the scope is growing fast: more users, more workflows, more integrations, and higher expectations.

You will not inherit a polished software organisation with specialists for every layer. You will own the stack, the trade-offs, the quality, and the path from problem to production.

What makes that worth it: the software you build will directly shape how a multidisciplinary aerospace team executes. You will not be building dashboards no one opens; you will be building the operating layer that helps engineers coordinate work, control complexity, and move LYOBA forward.

Apply to contribute, or send this to the full-stack engineer who wants to solve real engineering problems with software.
